Reach ten wins to unlock the Shop code field, then enter the code exactly as shown and press Redeem. Codes are case-sensitive and can expire without notice, so check the codes page after every update and copy-paste new codes within a few days of release to avoid missing free cash or gems.

Redeem active codes first, since they hand out cash and gems with zero playtime. After that, milestone crates, challenge completions and first-clear rewards on new maps are the best sources. Nightmare runs pay tickets and diamonds instead, so save them for late-game shops rather than everyday summons.

Summons spend currency to pull a random unit from the current banner. Duplicates feed the crafting pool, where combining units evolves them into higher rarity forms with better stats. Heroes sit at the top of the drop table with a 1% Hero tag on both crates and summons, so they are the rarest pulls in the game. Season content can also grant heroes through progression rewards, and data-wipe compensation codes have handed out heroes like Isaac2 in the past.

It depends on the crate. Event chests like Hazmat are farmed in bulk by veterans because their pools overlap with crafting fodder, while Shop crates rotate with seasons. The Hero tag shows at 1% on live drop tables, so open crates for fodder and value picks rather than counting on hitting a hero.

Seasons rotate every few months with the major content cycle — the Backrooms season shipped three maps, a pass and new evos together. Finish pass tiers before rotation to lock in limited rewards, because past seasons have not returned and their exclusive evos and tickets leave the shop with them.
